Located just 12 miles east is Hilton Head Island. Soft ocean breezes begin the day on Hilton Head Island, coaxing you onto the pristine sands. Seawaves play on the seashore as ocean birds duck among them. This is where you've come to relax, to be warmed by the sun's blissful rays.

Annual Greater Bluffton Tour of Homes
Held in April, this self-guided tour of 6 eclectic homes in Belfair, on the Bluff and along the May River is a fundraiser for the Bluffton Self Help, a non-profit organization helping families facing documented, short term emergencies, also includes a drawing for several pieces of jewelry and artwork.
Bluffton Farmers Market
Held in the Spring through the Fall. Fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants and herbs abound at the Bluffton Farmers Market, a weekly community event where locals and visitors gather not only to buy excellent produce but also to enjoy delicious food, listen to entertainment, and relax with friends. Situated in a tree lined park along the lovely May River, the Bluffton Farmers Market is a family friendly happening that showcases local growers, local food vendors, local entertainment, and local information.
TGI3rd Friday Celebration on Calhoun Street in Bluffton
Held every 3rd Friday of the month on Calhoun Street in Bluffton, 5-8 p.m. Live music and entertainment, food, shopping and more hosted by the Old Town Bluffton Merchants Society. Free admission.
Hilton Head Gullah Celebration
Held in February, the Annual Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration is sponsored by the Native Island Business and Community Affairs Association (NIBCAA) at various locations. Art exhibits, National Freedom Day Celebration, A Celebration of Authors, A Taste of Gullah, arts, crafts & food expo, gospel concerts, performances and more.
Verizon Heritage
In April, the Verizon Heritage is South Carolina's ONLY PGA TOUR. Event is recognized as one of the premiere golf tournaments in the country. Played since 1969, the event has rich history of giving back to the community. A local milestone.
Summer Jams Concert Series At Shelter Cove Community Park
Throughout the summer, this event is held on Tuesdays 7 to 10 pm. Music Madness performs weekly, plus special guest appearances and fun family games with fireworks over Shelter Cove Harbor. Free admission.
Hilton Head Celebrity Golf Tournament
On Labor Day Weekend, this event matches amateur golfers and celebrities for a Labor Day Weekend filled with great camaraderie and fun for the sole purpose of raising funds for local children's charities.
Area Attractions
Heyward House
Heyward House, built as a summer home for a local plantation owner, was constructed circa 1840 and is one of only eight antebellum homes remaining in the Lowcountry coastal town of Bluffton. Situated in the heart of Bluffton's National Register Historic District, next to the breezy bluffs overlooking the May River, this simple timber framed home is an excellent example of the Carolina Farmhouse Style that was brought from the West Indies and made popular from the Colonial period up to the Civil War.
Because of its well-preserved condition, the Heyward House is now an Official Project of the Save America's Treasures Program, a public-private partnership between the White House Millennium Council and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Families can venture to the top of the Harbor Town Lighthouse in Sea Pines for only a dollar each person. This activity offers a clear view of the Island’s south end as well as the eye pleasing Harbor Town Marina. Also available in Sea Pines is shopping, waterfront dining and horse back riding. Families could spend an entire day in Sea Pines alone.
Other family friendly spots include Shelter Cove Harbor, Adventure Cove, Island Playground, the Coastal Discovery Museum and The Sandbox, An Interactive Children's Museum. Shelter Cove Harbor offers a variety of experiences such as shopping, kayaking, sailing and cruise excursions, fireworks and concerts. Miniature golf courses include Legendary Golf and Pirate’s Island Adventure Golf.
