St. Patrick's Day
Irish eyes are smiling in Savannah every March 17! Our population of 250,000 doubles every year as more than 200,000 Irish wannabes pack the Savannah streets and Waterfront for St. Patrick's Day Savannah Style. Beer is not the only thing that flows emerald green during the holiday, every fountain within the city limits is dyed green in a ceremony that dates back more than 100 years. Green reigns supreme when everything from hair to dogs to even green eggs and ham gets residents and visitors into the sprit of St. Patrick's Day
Savannah Music Festival
Held in March and April, the Savannah Music Festival is dedicated to presenting a world-class celebration of the musical arts by creating timeless and adventurous productions that stimulate arts education, foster economic growth, and unite artists and audiences in Georgia's first city.
SCAD International Festival
During May, this event features traditional music, dance, art and food to celebrate the diversity of SCAD’s international arts community
Savannah Jazz Festival
Held in September, the Savannah Jazz Festival, celebrates jazz as a living art built on a constantly evolving tradition will offer all types of jazz, from Dixieland, traditional swing, straight-ahead and bop to melodic standards, and funky down-home gutbucket blues. The festival features the best in international, national, regional and local jazz talent.
Savannah Oktoberfest
A celebration of German food and beer, Oktoberfest in Savannah is held along River Street, one of the most popular locations in the city for festivals. The three-day event held annually in October features an arts and crafts show, live entertainment and a variety of food booths serving up German and other fare. For many, the highlight of the festival is the weiner dog races.
Holiday Tour of Homes
Savannah delights in making a big fuss over her guests. And her holiday dress is stunning: a chill in the air; the centuries-old main street awash with lights, stylish shops, and award winning restaurants; historic squares preened for the ball; and exquisitely decorated inns vying to be hailed most beautiful.
