Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are the Army's world-class training and military armored power projection combination on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. This dynamic platform allows military units in the region to deploy rapidly throughout the world.
The Stewart/Hunter Complex is the home of the 3d Infantry Division - the Army's Rock of the Marne! The 3d Infantry Division is comprised of about 18,000 Soldiers in the Headquarters, four Brigade Combat Teams, a Support Brigade, and a Combat Aviation Brigade. The division is currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
An estimated two-thirds of Soldiers and their Family Members live in Hinesville and surrounding communities.
The City of Hinesville is the county seat and largest city in Liberty County. With a population of over 30,000, Hinesville is also one of the fastest growing cities in the State of Georgia in both size and population. Hinesville is proud to be the home of the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart with which it shares a special relationship of mutual cooperation. The presence of the active military installation has contributed significantly to the growth of the area. The military installation occupies nearly half of the County's 519 square miles and is the largest employer in the County.

The Bacon-Fraser House
On the National Register of Historic Places, this is a privately owned home. The blooming azaleas and camellias in the home's garden, add to its beauty.
The Courthouse in Liberty County
The courthouse was constructed in 1926 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Old Liberty County Jail
One of the popular places to visit in Hinesville, this attraction was built in 1882 and contained all the modern conveniences- running water, inside plumbing and fireplaces. The county used this jail until 1972.
Fort Stewart Military Museum
This museum focuses on the history of Fort Stewart, the 3rd Infantry Division and the 24th Infantry Division.
